About Us
Godmanchester Bridge Academy opened in September 2016.
The main school building has been built in Godmanchester, just off the historic Roman Way.
Godmanchester Bridge Academy seeks to provide the best possible start to education for children aged 4-11 years in the Godmanchester area.
We are a growing school and currently have 8 classes across 7 year groups. We will open a 9th class in September 2024. Our teaching staff is made up of experienced and enthusiastic individuals who are dedicated to the education and nurturing of the children.
The state of the art building includes a multi-use hall equipped with a lighting rig, sound system, acoustic panels and gymnastic equipment. Our classrooms all have dedicated cloakrooms and toilets.
At Godmanchester Bridge Academy we embrace learning through the use of technology and each child from Years 1 to 6 have a dedicated iPad and access to a bank of laptops. Homework is set electronically along with communication between home and school.
The school has large grounds which provide a variety of learning and play opportunities, including a multi-use games area, large field, outdoor classroom, pond and wildlife area, mud kitchen, trim trail and coming soon, a sensory garden. Children benefit from OPAL within the grounds during lunchtime.
The school offers a full programme of extracurricular clubs and activities such as football, archery, Minecraft, art and crafts, Kids with Bricks, choir and cooking. We also have a dedicated Kids Club on site for before and after school childcare provision.
In 2020 we joined ACES Academies Trust: a multi academy trust of schools in Huntingdon and Godmanchester. For more information please go to: www.acesacademies.co.uk
